Ms. Heckman is the homeroom teacher for the kindergarten classroom in the mornings. This is her first year teaching at Stratford Middle Years School and she is looking forward to getting to know all the staff, students and their parents.
Ms. Heckman was born and raised in Mitchell with her family and over the years has moved around Ontario pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher. Mrs.Heckman has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors of Early Childhood Leadership Degree from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. She also attended the University of Ottawa where she received her Bachelors of Education in the Primary and Junior Division. Recently, Mrs. Heckman returned to her roots in Perth County, from St. Sauveur, Quebec, with her partner Dave and their one year old son Jaxson. She is currently living in Ms. DeDecker's previous home!
From snowboarding in the winter, hiking in the fall to relaxing on the beach in the summer, Ms.Heckman spends the majority of her spare time outdoors. “We often take for granted the beauty all around us, I believe that nature should be explored, respected and a part of our daily lives.”
