George Kleopa

Technology Teacher

Mr. K is the part-time technology teacher for grades 2 - 8 at SMYS. His classroom focus is on learning the fundamentals of creating good online habits from basic keyboarding skills and protecting your online identity to coding robots, websites and games, with a sprinkle of film, photography and editing mixed in.

As the CEO and founding member of a local software development company his career in tech over the past 19 years has afforded him opportunities to work with, advise and invest in a wide variety of industries from start-up to enterprise. His passion is finding the perfect balance of technology and user joy and knowing when to 'Turn Off' the technology and enjoy the pleasures of family, woodworking, gardening and Maple Leafs Hockey!

Mr K sits on the board of the Stratford and District Chamber of Commerce and is a soccer coach, a photographer and videographer in his spare time.

It is Mr. K's absolute joy to be a part of the SMYS family.

Our location is at the Falstaff Family Centre in Stratford, Ontario. The focus of our classrooms is to provide a well-rounded education that inspires all children to be inquisitive and work to their individual, full potential. We aim to give Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 3 children a solid foundation for all their academic education and we hope to instill a joy for learning in them. In Grades 4 to 6 we tap into the children's love for learning and strengthen their confidence and self-esteem. We strive to ensure a smooth transition for Grade 7 & 8 students into secondary school.
