Application Process

At Stratford Middle Years School, we understand that choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. That's why we take the admissions process seriously. It's as much about us learning about your child, as it is about you learning as much as possible about our school. We encourage parents to schedule a visit when classes are in session so that you can get a realistic feel for the energy and the atmosphere. Our admissions office is also open during August, so please reach out to schedule a visit. Children are always welcome to join the tour!

We welcome applications throughout the year, and there is no set admission deadline. However, due to the limited availability of space in each classroom, we encourage all applicants to apply as early as possible for their best chance at securing a spot for their child.

Step 1

Make an appointment to visit us, take a tour, see our classrooms in session, meet the teachers and get your questions answered by our team.

Step 2

The next step will be to complete our application, a non-refundable $150 application fee must accompany the online application.

You will be required to submit additional documents after the application has been reviewed by the admissions office, these documents include:

  1. For children in Grades 1-8: the applicant's final report card from last year, and any reports from current year.

  2. For children in Kindergarten: Our Kindergarten Readiness Questionnaire.

Step 3

A call from the Admissions Office will follow receipt of the application to collect any required supporting documentation and set up a visit for the applicant to meet with the Head of School.

The applicant will then receive a timely notification of the admissions decision. When the applicant is offered a place at SMYS, an Enrollement Contract and Tuition Agreement will be issued and filled out. To secure the place, all forms must be completed and returned in a timely manner and include the registration deposit on or before the agreed upon date.
